Face ID at the bottom of the screen is back to being the iPhone 15 Pro rumor

Based on the latest rumors, it now seems unlikely that iPhone 14 Pro models will have Face ID under the display as initially claimed.

Earlier today, display industry consultant Ross Young claimed that the iPhone 14 Pro models will feature perforated and pill-shaped cutouts near the top of the display. Young believes the slot will be for the dot matrix display device Face ID, while the pill-shaped slot will house the front camera and an infrared camera for Face ID as a minimum.

in a Tweet followYoung has since claimed that the infrared camera won’t be moved under the screen until 2023 or 2024, indicating that Face ID won’t be fully under the screen until the iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 16 Pro.

It is worth noting that microanalyst Ming-Chi Kuo has claimed that Face ID will not be moved under the screen until 2023 all the time.

While the two-hole design of the iPhone 14 Pro models won’t provide a completely smooth viewing experience, it will still be another step in that direction. And if Young and Kou prove them right, we might finally get a full-screen design next year.
